C.R.I.S.I.COMUNE DI RICERCA PER L’IMMAGINAZIONE SOCIALE INCLUSIVA
COMMUNE OF RESEARCH FOR INCLUSIVE SOCIAL IMAGINATION
C.R.I.S.I (COMMUNE OF RESEARCH FOR INCLUSIVE SOCIAL IMAGINATION) WAS A PROJECT COORDINATED BY ETCETERA FOR THE SECOND EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL AWARD OF PARTICIPATORY ART.
C.R.I.S.I was a CONTEXTUAL and TEMPORARY project based on research, imagination, debate and collective invention related with the current CRISIS and its symbolic effects on the language and the social-body. The experience was organized as a series of SOCIAL READYMADE* founded on the collective research with cultural collectives and social movements, and contains: laboratories, interventions in public spaces and devices for media production.
It was conceptualized and developed by methods and resources adopted from the so call “political field” such as: assemblies, discourses, releases, manifests and campaigns. It was developed through extra-disciplinary languages like performance, philosophy, hip-hop, sociology, public intervention, street art, music and media, in order to provide, share and build artistic strategies and creative responses for the crisis.
During the research residency period in Bologna in 2012 we focused the research on the analysis of two aspects of the current context which affect the daily life of the inhabitants. We developed a kind of diagnostic about the some topics and issues related to the current crisis: the OBJECTIVE TRANSFORMATIONS, precarization, unemployment, fall in purchasing power, indebtedness, bancarization. And its SUBJECTIVE EFFECTS, institutional skepticism, lack of participation, difficulty for self-organize collectively to solve common problems, broken links in the social networks, feelings of frustration, alienation, increase of suicide and violence.
By leaning on a comparative analysis based on some examples from 2001 Argentinean crisis, we has identified three symptoms of social pathologies of the current crisis, which affect the collective imagination and have their symbolic expressions in the social body: ANOMIE, DEGRADATION and CRISIS OF REPRESENTATION.
*SOCIAL READYMADE: We use the concept of social ready-made as an artistic practice which is the result of a contextual displacement and the signalization of those existing situations, tensions and conflicts in order to give them visibility.
